The club has been playing at Chilwell Olympia Sports Centre for over 40 years and our aim is to coach juniors in the sport of Badminton and to develop players in all aspects of the game. To ensure they have fun, they have enjoyment as well as achievement. Promote attitudes towards, respect and fair play, citizenship and general wellbeing.ž

We are already recognised as “A safe, effective and child-friendly club” and as a consequence were  awarded the Sport England ‘Clubmark’ accreditation, and also the Badminton England Premier Club status (their highest award). To gain these awards we needed to provide evidence that, policies existed in all of the following areas plus much more not shown here: Club Rules, Child Protection Policy, Incident/Accident Report Form, Guidelines for Dealing with Incident/Accident, Venue Details, Risk Assessment, Constitution, Equity Policy, Code of conduct Parents and Carers, Code of Conduct for Club Officials and Volunteers, Volunteers Agreements. ž

Coaches – minimum number of coaches with clear roles and responsibilitiesž

The Playing Programme – making use of Badminton England resources and provide structured coaching sessionsž

Competition – provide match play and competition opportunitiesžVenue(s) – all sessions take place in a suitable and safe environmentž

Club Management – formal management team with links to local schools, County BA and affiliated to Badminton EnglandžDuty of Care and Safeguarding and Protecting Children - club has adopted BADMINTON England’s child protection policy and procedures

All adults CRB checked via BADMINTON England, has adopted a code of practice for all coaches and volunteers, has access to first aid equipment at all club, has emergency procedures for dealing with serious incidents/accidents, has the contact details of parents/carers and emergency/alternative contacts for junior members, has information on any medical conditions of its junior membersž

Sports Equity & Ethics - The club has adopted BADMINTON England’s equity policy, has an open constitution, has a code of practice for parents/carers and other supporters and has a set of rules for junior members and young people ž

All adults at the club must be CRB checkedž

We have at present:3 x Coaches Level 2,  1 x Instructor Coach and 2 x Level 1 coachesžAlso 2 x adult volunteers
